I'll meet with Albuquerque Community Safety (ACS) on Mar 6th to learn more about why they exist and how our neighborhood can work with them and benefit from their services (Mental Health crisis response, etc).
If you have specific questions that you'd like me to ask, please comment here and I'll do my best to cover as much as I can in the meeting. I'll post a followup with what I learned.
If you don't know anything about ACS, you can learn more here: https://www.cabq.gov/acs
Thanks!
Questions for ACS
Re: Questions for ACS
Yesterday morning at Kap's we talked a bit about questions for ACS
* First: what are the goals of ACS that the neighborhood would benefit from understanding?
* If one calls 911 and asks for help with a mental health/behavioral crisis, will ACS or APD be dispatched?
* If the caller does not want an armed response, what is the best way to ensure ACS will respond instead of APD.
* If ACS responds and helps in a crisis situation with a family member, what type of follow up preventative services are available and how do we access those services?
Please post other pertinent questions that you have.
Thanks!

Re: Questions for ACS
A quick review of what I learned with ACS. If there's interest, perhaps I'll try to make a more in depth ACS video. Let me know.
