Family Friendly / Kids Event in the Park?

Post by Donovan-Marquez »

Hello Fair West neighbors!

My wife and I would love to help coordinate some family friendly/ kids events in the park. The city does a Bike Rodeo program that could be really fun! Check out the link below to learn more!

https://www.cabq.gov/parksandrecreation ... bike-rodeo

Before we move forward I wanted to see if there’s interest to join in on the fun??

Please let me know!

Thanks,
Robert

I hadn't heard of the Bike Rodeo but that sounds cool! I'm out of town until the 18th, but I'd be happy to work with you to see if we can host that in the neighborhood.

Thanks,
Nick

Hi Rob, this is Jenny (Abby's mom). We met at the park and I invited you to our daughter's B-Day. Please count me in. I am just glad I found the forum.

Rob,

Count me in to help. Nick says the city will also help. Also there is a great family friendly band in the neighborhood called Soul Puddin'. Maybe we can convince them to entertain.

Good afternoon! We've got a date scheduled with Esperanza Bicycle Safety and Education Center for the Bike Rodeo at Fox Park on Tuesday, September 24 sometime between 3-7pm. I told them I would get back to them with an exact time once I did some outreach with neighbors as to what time works best.

Attached below is a link with info about the program.

https://www.cabq.gov/parksandrecreation ... bike-rodeo

Although it mentions ages 8-11, kids older and younger are welcome to participate.

Is there interest in making this a larger neighborhood event? Food? Giveaways? Hangout? Etc?

I would like to work with some of you all on planning this event! Please let me know!

Hey all,

If you don't already know, our neighbor Robert Donovan has organized a Bike rodeo event for neighborhood kids next Tues the 24th from 5-7pm (Flyer: https://abqfairwest.org/2024/09/19/bike ... -fox-park/). If you have or know someone would with time and interest, we could use some help. Here a a few options, please email/reply on the forum if you'd like to help. Thanks!

* Spread the word to neighbors with kids. Flyer available now and posted to our website

* someone to pickup food on the day of. Looking like it'll be pizza, but where/when is still being decided. For more details, please send me (nick@127tech.net) and email or call me (viewtopic.php?t=21)

* Bring a couple of tables and/or tents

* Bring paper plates/napkins/trash cans

* Drinks: I have a cooler that can be used. Anyone able to donate some drinks, ice or another cooler

* setup/cleanup: one or two who can move some tables, chairs, ice, trash, etc 30/45 min before and 30/45 min after

Thanks!
