Hi All,
Nick asked me to organize a Board Meeting for a couple weeks from now. We can meet here at my house (and later determine other locations as we move forward) at 604 Valencia Drive NE just south of the park . Does anyone have suggestions for time & length? Given this is our first meeting in a while and with new Board members we may need 2 hours. Suggestions for the agenda are welcomed. Certainly, we need to introduce ourselves as a starter. Establishing committees with leaders/liasons is another priority. See below suggestions. Please think of ways to divvy up the Board's responsibilities in balanced way.
-meetings 2nd Wednesday, Saturday every 3 months schedule at end of previous year, rest of this year now
-Board liaisons for neighborhood committees, : Park Committee headed by Dorothy Kerwin, District 6 (?), Barber School/Heart of Recovery folks including district 6 members need leader, events organizer (including Annual at large meeting), Main Street , Communications….
-Sec’y duties in addition to minutes? ( such as posting neighborhood communications; public post of minutes and next meeting agenda, keeper of forms we use ex. sign up sheets, banners, signs)..., list of all officers’ duties in addition to
by-laws,…
-Pres., VP, Sec’y, Treas, liaison quarterly reports to Board
-Specific VP duties coordinated with President’s duties as defined by President
-Forum post/website leader/assistant with Nick I presume,
Please feel free to add to this list. Most important: suggested dates & time for our next Board Meeting & please share ideas with everyone on the Board (reply to all).
This is an initial brainstorm email, so excuse any errors or omissions. Feel free to correct & add to.
Thanks,
Anita

Great, if I can give input for the board. There is so much important stuff going on and not enough souls get around, if I can suggest that for now give pillars be set for committee development e.g.,
1) safety/security,
2) community events,
3) property mgmt/clean up/vacant homes,
4) community outreach (getting the word out
5) Transient/ACS/Potential substance abuse facility
Have community members with a board member to facilitate sign up for specific committees they are interested in. As you can see each cover multiple aspects that can be added to based on group decision or that may cross over to another committee where someone from each crossover committee can work together in solving issues.
This way committee members are aware of meetings someone from their group will need to attend and, a list of committees and and members can be created for direct contact vs. all emails going to Nick.
Committee name of course are only an example.
